Really thought this one would work...
I was really shocked that this dress was so unflattering when I tried it on because it got such rave reviews. I think my proportions were wrong for this dress. It was oversized on top and tight on the bottom. I have an hourglass figure but the widest part of my hips is lower than average. I usually need a small size (6) for my waist, one size bigger for my bust (8) and a size or two bigger for my hips/butt (10-12), so I was prepared to get minor alterations on this dress, particularly the top. Really nice material but the ruching at the back of the skirt was awful looking on me. The neckline didn't lay nicely and the top was just too bunchy. All the alterations in the world could not have saved it, oh well!

This dress is perfect! It doesn't look like a prom dress as I read in one review before I purchased it. The fit is very flattering in all the right places. I'm glad I made this purchase.

Ridiculous folds across waistline
The item description mentions that there is a gather around the waist/on the top portion of the black skirt. Well, that is an understatement. The material is a little thick to begin with and there is WAAAAY too much of it. It doesn't lightly gather and the folds don't lay flat. Each fold is a couple inches wide and they stick straight out in front of you. The side view of me in the mirror was so horrible and ridiculous I laughed at it all the way back to the store to return it. The upper half of the dress was nice and fit true to size. The lower half is also shiny, as other reviewers have mentioned. It would be beautiful for a fancy occasion if only it didn't look so stupid with the folds.

Way better than the picture
I bought this dress thinking it would be nice for work, but its too nice for work!
The picture doesn't do it justice becuase it doesn't show the shiny, satinish skirt or the way the pink top seems to shimmer.
The fit is a perfect Limited size 6. Now i need an excuse to wear this beautiful dress somewhere soon!

Best Purchase Ever
I just want to start off by saying that I am a #1 shopper at the Limited and I have to say as far as a dress purchase. This is the absolutely best purchase!!! I purchased it to wear the dress to church and this dress is the perfect length for that, but I would suggested if the length was about an inch longer, I would purchase every color. It's not at all as short as the pencil skirts or the other dresses from the Limited. This dress ends right in the center of the knee or a little below depending on how high the heel of the shoe you are wearing. The fitted skirt is stretchy and form fitting with the shape of your body. I do love that about the dress. My husband thought it was very sexy on me. lol The gathers in the skirt camouflages a small tummy and the drape in the top falls to the side instead of it looking like a cow neck top. I don't know what the last reviewer was talking about when she stated it as like a bad prom dress. The material is great, no cheap fabric and I didn't find it to be as shiny as she described. It is satin and a little shiny is to be expected. To the faithful Limited shoppers and card holders, this is a must have to your wardrobe. It works for church, an evening dinner, but I don't think this is office attire. It's an innocent, sexy dress!!! Hats off to this designer, Great job!!!

Prom Bomb
I took this out of the bag with my husband watching and he said, "OMG that looks like a 1980's prom bomb." The fabric is shiny and shimmery and it fits really weird. It's almost like you are wearing two different dresses and it bunches up everywhere.
From the picture online, I would never have imagined both the top and the skirt to be shiny. I work in an accounting firm and this dress would not only stand out, but it would look like I was going to some kind of bad prom. Skip it!

Love this Dress!
I ordered this dress from the website without being able to see it in person. It fits incredibly well. The skirt is fitted all the way down but the material is stretchy enough to move around comfortably. The contrast between the ivory top and the black bottom is even better in person.

This dress is absolutely beautiful! The two-tone style is great. The ruching at the midsection is very beneficial-hides any pooching. The ruching at the rear/lovehandles are give or take...They don't make the dress better but they don't ruin it either. It fits true to size. I didn't find the top to be too big as another reviewer stated. I found the dress to fit equally well on the top and bottom. It's a touch shorter than I expected, but this may be because my hips take up more space than the model's. For reference 5'6" 150lbs, 36C, 6-8 usual size, average rear but w. lots of hips. The caliber of the skirt material is perfect. A better material for the top could have been used. The top was a bit wrinkled upon arrival but a trip to the dry cleaners should fix that. Overall the dress is quite nice. I can't say it's worth the original price as I purchased it during the 50% off sale. It's a lovely dress that fits well w. pretty good quality.

I want this dress in my life. I love the slight drape on the top, which flatters the bust line (God knows, I need that). But most importantly, this dress screams sophistication. Give you LBD a rest and take this baby out for a spin. She'll be good.
