It turned out to be very flattering on me: I went down a size. It's a very gorgeous dress in person. Wish I would have bought this in every color: at this price, you can't go wrong!! Perfect for the weddings I'll attend this summer.
Based on other reviews, I was sceptical about purchasing this dress. But, when it went on sale and I was able to get it for around $20, I figured it couldn't hurt to try it. I ordered the fushia/black. It is a beautiful dress with nice layering. The lace gives it a more elegant feel. The underslip is not to the same quality, but no one is able to tell that when the dress is on. I am normally a size 4-6 in The Limited dresses, and ordered a size 4 since it appears to run big. I probably could have gone down to a 2. But, overall I was happy with the purchase, especially for the price. It will be great for the weddings I am going to this year.

Surprising

When I first saw this dress online, I thought it looked stunning. Then I read the reviews. So I waited to buy it on clearance for $30. I'm surprised to say it but I really like the dress! The fit is spot on, and the lace is very eye-catching. And while I couldn't get the top to drape exactly like in the photo, it still looked nice. My only complaint is the elastic waist, which makes an otherwise classy dress looker cheapened. A belt or sash should do the trick though. Bottom line, you won't go wrong for $30.

Get it while its on sale!
Date:April 16, 2013
Though I agree with other comments that the fit and draping is kinda weird, I have to admit that you can't really go wrong with this dress at $29.99 with coupons on top of that. I was having a hard time picking out colors but finally go with the blue/black, since I think it can work in many occasions.
The lace is beautiful, and the bunching isn't too awkward (as some other reviewers found), but the fit is not the best quality. The undersheath is strapless, so keeping that in place with the loose lace on top is a little off, but still quite wearable. I'm 5'6", 130 lbs, and the size 4 fit okay, maybe was a little large. Overall though, I'm happy with the dress, and am glad i got it on clearance.

Love this dress!!
Date:March 29, 2013
Initially, I was skeptical to buy this dress because of the other reviews but I took the chance and ordered it online for a bridal shower I was attending and it turned out to be exactly as I imagined! Absolutely beautiful! Amazing quality. The perfect fit. I'm so glad I bought it!! One of the best dresses I've ever owned :)
This dress has a lovely high quality lace material. The problem is the inner lining. There's a simple elastic holding the dress up. This is problematic for all women - busty or not. I didn't find the neckline awkward at all (as previous reviewers have). It looked as it had on the model. The slip on the inside is the real issue because it could easily slip and you would have nothing preventing you from flashing others.

Awkward Fit
Date:March 13, 2013
Ditto to what everyone else (mostly) said about this dress. It is poorly designed for fit. I purchased the purple and gold dress. The gold slip underneath just seemed like it would not position right. Even the lace overlay felt awkward at my neckline. Once adjusted in the best manner possible, I couldn't deny that I was a little bit in love with it but the fit could be a lot better. If this dress isn't on sale, then don't buy it. It's not worth its regular price.

Looked super cute online - in person its a very awkward fit. If you're petite it just makes you look frumpy.

Cheap looking and odd neckline
Date:February 26, 2013
I wanted to wear this dress for Valentines Day, but It was a disappointment. The lace is nice enough but the pink dress underneath looked so cheap. The neckline is asymmetric, which looks great on the model, but when I tried it on it moved every which way and appeared as if I had missed a button or put it on backwards. Not a keeper for me.

Lace pull
Date:February 26, 2013
The dress was exactly what I needed for an event in February. I was looking for something simple, trendy, and a bit different than everyone else would be wearing. The red was a beautiful color and it fit pretty well (not perfect). I did notice some pulls in the lace which makes me a bit weary to have it dry cleaned.

Love the dress...two sizes smaller!
Date:February 26, 2013
This dress arrived and I was in love with the color and lace. I tried it on and I am ALWAYS a size 8 dress. So, I ordered an 8 and it was swimming on me! I took it back to the store and ended up getting a size 4. I'm 5'3", 145 lbs., 34 DD bra size and very curvy. I haven't worn a size four in anything for YEARS. I like how the waist and skirt is forgiving for a curvy girl, but order it down a size or two, or you'll be exchanging it like me! I'm looking forward to wearing this during wedding season this year!

Didnt like how it fit.
Date:February 26, 2013
i'm 5 9' , 135 lbs and this didn't fit right at all. i wanted to love it ...but i didnt. i had to return. :o(
I bought this dress for Valentine's Day (in red!) and love it - I bought a 10 as i understand from my other Sophie dress they run small. Being it was a very curvy dress, I was lucky enough to pull this dress over my head and avoid the zipper on the side. Outside of the lace overlay, the 'tube dress' underneath is stretchy allowing me to pull this over. One thing I do not like is how delicate the lace is- although very beautiful, be sure to watch your nails, jewelry etc because it will catch. It was annoying but I got over it because of how well it fit and the amount of compliments I got when I wore it :) For sizing - go up - I'm 5'7", 38 C, wear between an 8 - 10 but opted for the 10. I wore the red dress with the black Sophie belt!
I bought this in the red, my favorite color. It manages to flatter my figure- average chest, smaller waist, bigger hips (I was surprised). It fits me like the model in the pictures. It definitely will pair well with a cardigan or jacket.
I wanted to love this dress but there is just so much wrong with it. First of all it is difficult to get on: there is a side zipper and the lining is strapless with elastic at the waist and the top of the but making it more difficult to zip, then there are three hooks & eyes on the left shoulder, so once to do get the zipper up and the lining in place you have to try to reach over your shoulder to get the back half of the strap and hope the hooks haven't gotten caught in the lace somewhere. The styling is weired too, the pleats and gathers aren't well placed so it ends up looking like the whole thing was sewn by somone blindfolded, everything about it looks like a mistake. Even if you can get past all of that it really isn't comfortable to wear, the whole thing feels like its pulling and wants to twist around your body and trying to adjust it only makes it worse. save yourself some headache and just skip trying this dress.

Pleats are strange
Date:February 11, 2013
I have a large chest (DDD) and this dress does not flatter me at all. The lace is very beautiful, but the pleats make it look like it was sewn funny. The lace on the left shoulder stretches to the right side of the waist instead of straight down and looks like it wasn't lined up properly when it was sewn. I know that was the way it was designed, but I don't think it was designed for someone who isn't model size. I will be returning this dress, which is a shame since I had such high hopes...
This dress is unbelievable in person. It is quite unique and stunning. This is truly a designer dress except for the price. The lace feels very "expensive" to the touch. I usually wear TL size 6 and it's absolutely true to size. I can see it wearing with a cardigan #not necessarily the one the is recommended with the dress#, a blazer or on its own to a coctail party in the summer. Truly lovely.
I tried this on in red thinking how great it would be as a valentine's day dress. One of the straps is actually like a bra strap that you can let loose to help getting into. Super cool. The contrasting strapless slip is a nice touch as well. I just didn't LOVE it on. It just kinda looked like a sack without any real shape. I recommend belting it with a wider belt to help give it some shape. True to size for TL sizing.
